Map Irish Design plots the people, places and projects connected to contemporary communication design, and reveals the impact design has on life in Ireland.
100 Archive is one of Ireland’s most significant resources on design. In 2019 a team of researchers, designers, developers and animators delved into the previous decade of materials gathered by 100 Archive in order to Map Irish Design. We have plotted the connections between projects, people and the stories behind them. Explore by theme or fast track to the insights from the archive data below.

By exploring the rich networks of people and projects we researched, four core themes emerged as threads linking the design work held in the 100 Archive.
With 39% of all work submitted to the 100 Archive being made for the cultural sector (more than any other category), it is clear that design plays a notable role in how we express our culture.
Irish society has shifted dramatically since 2010. Socially, politically and in terms of how and what we consume, Ireland's changing values can be seen in our design.

Technology and globalisation make the world smaller every day, while at the same time enabling Irish designers and businesses to ever expand their horizons.
